Over 60 Years of Painting Expertise!
Guaranteed Painting Co. is owned by Marie and Herb Thorn. They have been painting homes, offices and businesses in College Station - Bryan since 1992. However, they aren't the first generation of Thorns providing expertise in the painting business in Bryan-College Station.

Herb Thorn, Sr. spent almost 30 years in the paint business, first as a store manager for Sherwin Williams Co. in Houston and Bryan, and later as a factory representative for Glidden Paint and Benjamin Moore & Co. In 1970, he bought Chapman's Paint and Wallpaper in Bryan, TX. Three years later he built the building that the store currently occupies and operated it until he sold the business in 1977.

Two Generations of Expertise in Painting
While a student at Texas A&M, Herb (Jr.) worked at the family paint store learning about paint and application procedures. He started painting in the summer as a way of making extra money and in 1978 he joined the Painters Union in Houston working in the River Oaks area.
Later he relocated to San Jose Ca. and began working for the Fortune Painting Co., a commercial and industrial painting firm in the San Francisco Bay area. He gained broad experience working on projects such as the Linear Accelerator at Stanford University, Pacific Gas and Electric plants, and what was then called Marriott's Great America. He has knowledge of high performance coatings and a level of product expertise not generally available to the average residential painting contractor. He enjoys providing guidance to customers that need help in choosing the right paint products for their project.
Herb meets with clients to estimate and define the scope of work for each project, directs the paint crews, and oversees the quality of all work. Most importantly, he makes sure each job ends with a happy, satisfied customer and, hopefully, a friend.
Marie is an Architectural Color Consultant who brings a wealth of organizational and business experience gained from years of operating her own construction support business in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Upon request, Marie meets with customers to assist in selecting and coordinating both interior and exterior paint colors. She uses her expertise to help clients develop an overall color plan for their home that compliments their furnishings and enhances the architectural features and proportions of their homes.
Marie also assists in customer follow up and pretty much everything else that needs to be done that doesn't involve a brush or roller. In addition, she also serves as president of the company.
